A tranquil experience on River Kwai, Thailand
Ever wondered what it must feel like sleeping on one of the world’s most historic rivers?
River Kwai’s Jungle Rafts, offers accommodation floating tranquilly on top of the fast flowing River Kwai. Guests are invited to get up close and personal with nature during a relaxing holiday experience away from the normal hustle and bustle of life.
The guest rooms (28 sq.m. in size) boast handmade furniture by local Mon villagers, a traditional Mon housing feel, a standard hotel bathroom, eco cooling from the river running beneath and a balcony with its very own Hammock to kick back and relax in. To protect River Kwai’s natural surrounding, the jungle rafts are 100% eco friendly. No electricity is used; instead a Mon villager provides guests with a couple of kerosene lamps at night, which magically contributes to a romantic and mystical atmosphere. A septic tank installed under the toilets; make sure that no waste is dropped into the river.
The floating raft restaurant brilliantly caters to the needs of their guests by offering a variety of Thai and local Mon dishes to explore and enjoy. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is served daily under the clear blue skies and shimmering moonlight hovering over the Kwai river.
